Hello, I would like to have some information on what to use on the glass to clean and wax it after you have soldered and put on the patina. Thank you. _________________ Jim Burnett |

When you have finished your cofferfoil project and have used patina the best way to clean the glass and protect your soldering from oxidation is to apply "Finihing Compound". First clean off any excess patina, shake bottle of Finishing Compound for about 1 minute and apply liberally covering all the glass and solder joints with a soft clean rag. Alow to dry thoroughly then with another clean dry soft rag buff excess Finishing Compound away. This will leave the glass shining and your patina-ed solder joints fresh. The Finishing Compound helps protect your project from oxidation which is a white scum or even in bad cases a white furlike appearance over your solder joints to your copperfoil projects. Do not leave applying your Finishing Compound to the next day as oxidation commences immediately. If you have projects which were completed some time ago and would like to apply Finishing Compound or you have projects which have oxidised, you must use a low grade steel woold and buff up all solder joints again. You may remove patina do not panic just re-patina and use your Finishing Compound. You don't have to patina to use Finishing Compound. The Finishing Compound can be applied straight onto your soldered joints. Just clean away any excess solder by washing your project as normal with Copperfoil Rinse Off and then clean water, pat dry and apply Finishing Compound. |
